Meet the Board
Randall Turgeon, Business Manager
Randy joined the WINDS in 2007 as a member of the Horn section and took on the duties of business manager in 2009. In 1975, his horn studies took him from Muskegon to Berlin, Germany and then to Houston's Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. For twenty-five years, Randy was a free-lance hornist performing with the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet, Theatre Under The Stars, plus numerous chamber groups and touring ensembles. Since 2003, Randy has sung with the Cosmops and returned to his horn in 2007. In addition to the WINDS, Mr. Turgeon also plays his horn in the Lake Effect Brass and fortifies the bass section of the Muskegon Chamber Choir.
Howard Meade, President
Howard played with the WINDS in the mid 80's and returned in 2005 after years of full time business travel and living in Atlanta. He also plays with the Ein Prosit German Band and the Channel Winds. Howard has traveled with the Blue Lake International Community Band to Europe and with Windiana community band to China. He is a retired manufacturing executive and consultant and has served as the WINDS president since 2007.
JoAnn Arcand, Vice President
JoAnn began playing flute in 1965 as a fifth grader and abruptly stopped playing as of her high school graduation. She resumed flute studies after a thirty-five year hiatus and has played with the WINDS since 2009. JoAnn owns an Internet software consulting firm based in western Michigan.
Kim Reynolds, Secretary
Kim has played Tuba with the WINDS since 1996, and has been playing tuba since 1992. She has toured with the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp International Adult Community Band several times. She is employed as a teacher with a local school district.
Teresa Dunn, Treasurer
Teresa has played Euphonium with the WINDS since 2001, and has been playing euphonium since 1993. She is employed as a certified public accountant with a local public accounting firm.
Karen Larnard, Personnel Manager
Karen LOVES THE WINDS. She is retired elementary teacher and has been Personnel Manager for the WINDS since 2006.
Jocelin Lindell
Jocelin has played percussion with the winds since 2008. She was a music major for her first 2 years at WMU and changed to Spanish after living a semester in Mexico. She is employed as a Spanish teacher with a local high school.
Mark Schulz
Mark joins the Board this year after his association with the WINDS Leadership Team for the ACB Convention in May 2011. Mark is a retired manufacturing executive and consultant. He is not a musician, but does enjoy the instrumental arts and supports teh WINDS with his business background and experience.
Tom Oatmen
Tom began playing clarinet in 1986, and has played with the WINDS since 2009. He has played in bands at Grand Valley State University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Michigan. He is the law clerk for the 14th Circuit Court.
