Instrumental Student Scholarships
The West Michigan Concert Winds and the Community Foundation for Muskegon County are proud to offer a variety of scholarships to middle and high school students. Instrumental players living and attending schools in Muskegon County in grades 6-8 and grade 12 are eligible.
Scholarship Requirement Information
High School Seniors, who attend a HS in Muskegon County planning to study music at the college/university level are eligible for one of the several grants which may be distributed on a one-time or multi-year basis.
Middle school scholarships are subsidies for those wishing to attend Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan.
Audition Requirements – Band or Orchestra Students
This year there will be both types of Auditions, a virtual or an in person. High School seniors should prepare a solo of several minutes with accompaniment, if possible.
High School 12th grade ONLY - prepared Solo with accompaniment, if possible.
Middle School (6th - 8th) – No Audition is required – however you MUST have a letter of recommendation from your band director submitted with your application.
Application & Deadline
High School - In Person Auditions will be March 9th and 16th, 2023. At Muskegon Community College at the Music Building in Suite 1210. Please first email your Scholarship Application Form to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will be contacted to set up an audition date and time.

- There is up to $5500 in scholarships available this year - 2023
MIDDLE SCHOOL (6TH - 8TH) SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
- 2-$250 MS Scholarships to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp
