Scholarships
Instrumental Student Scholarships
The West Michigan Concert Winds and the Community Foundation for Muskegon County are proud to offer a variety of scholarships to middle and high school students. Instrumental players living and attending schools in Muskegon County in grades 6-8 and grades 10-12 are eligible.
2026 Scholarship Awards
High School (10th - 12th Grade) Scholarships
There are three (3) scholarships available for students in grades 10-12 attending a HS in Muskegon County. An audition is required for all scholarships.
- High School Seniors, planning to study music at the college/university level are eligible for one of the several grants which may be distributed on a multi-year basis. $1500 every year for 4 years. Total of $6000. Based on audition performance.
- High School Junior, who attends a HS in Muskegon County based on an audition performance. Awarded $1700 to attend Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
- High School Sophomore, who attends a HS in Muskegon County based on an audition performance. Awarded $1700 to attend Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
Middle School (6th - 8th Grade) Scholarships
- 2-$500 MS Scholarships to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp

Audition Requirements – Band or Orchestra Students
Application & Deadline
High School Applications are due April 1, 2026.
High School 10-12th grade - prepared Solo with accompaniment (if possible).
In-person Audition
In Person Auditions will be April 2nd or April 9th, 2026 between 4:00-6:00pm at Muskegon Community College at the Music Building in Suite 1210.

Middle School Scholarship Requirement Information
Middle school scholarships are subsidies for those wishing to attend Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan.
Middle School (6th - 8th) – No Audition is required – however you MUST have a letter of recommendation from your band director must be submitted with your application.
Middle School Applications are due April 30th, 2026!
